gsr has really hard start and egg smell?

alright well my civic has a b18c1 gsr...
i had a mechanic someone of mine recently reset my regulator hair hes strictly a honda journeyman but... right after that the automobile started cranking really hard and slow same as if the battery was dying. it ease starts but really tardily then it picks up the cranking until it finally starts...
every morning or whenever its been movement for more than a few hrs is when it doesnt same to move right up. after its been warmed up it starts fine.
i checked for flash and the plugs and thats fine...i thought maybe my chum couldve tightned it likewise much but he used all of the right tools and tightend everything to correct adjustment!

i intellection the slow cranking could be my starter but if it was that, the car wouldnt turn over...
i thought alternater but if it was that then it would drain my battery...
now idk what it could be? loos ground on alternator/battery? idk ive ran out of options...

the motor lets soured this really eggy odor but exclusive when the automobile is first started then NO smell at all! i feature some honda forums that said the alternator could be over charging the shelling wich because of salferic acid it could provide soured an eggy smell?
my machanic someone said the car could be running rich as the egg smell symptom but will that cause my automobile to invoke over REALLY HARD?

with my car hooked up to a rattling beatific battery charger it started correct up but digit life later aforementioned symptoms it cranks hard again and really slow...

350 TBI extreme MPG Drop. to 6mpg and below??? What Happened?

Ok, I had a Mechanic put a newborn cam and lifters in my 90' Model 350 TBI, it was a Lunati 60101LK lifters, I was getting about 10-12mpg in town and about 15-16mpg highway, I spoke to Lunati and they advisable this CAM for my application, that is would provide a little extra HP & TQ gain and better effeciency a 1-2 mpg increase. but wow I'm now averaging roughly 6mpg city/8-18 highway. I undergo the cam was set to 6 & 12 dots lined up. Valve adjustments to 0 hair backed soured until every resound then tighten till resound kibosh 1/4 turn after that was set and the cam break-in at 2000rmps for about 20 minutes, rechecked and everything was right. I since finished the full newborn tune-up from spark plugs comely notch wires new dizzy, msd container & rotor MSD coil. fuel filter, locomote & tranny/transfer housing & gear oil both face and backwards o2 sensor, EGR a new ESC that was faulty, PCV valve, Timing is at 0 degrees humble time. As of today Im am boggled to what is causing this issue. I hit feature multiple forums talked to execution both have there 2 cents Advance The kindling timing between 2-4 degrees for meliorate fuel economy or O degrees or 2 degrees retarded.
anyone hit any suggestions and haw have an intent what I haw requirement to countenance at or recheck.
cuase my grandfathers chevy 4x4 454ci carbed get allot better MPG and hes a onerous foot.

Before it is asked, my onset visit is precise and all wires nest snapped on with electric semiconductor oil stuff. and the lightheaded is correct on, not a tooth off, Like i said above something has to be soured and/or not jiving. according to Lunati CAM Tech, there would be no requirement to reprogram the ECM/EPROM.
@Nick, yes there is a brawny odor of pedal odor during startup and a pair of transactions after, but after that there is no smell of gas, meet regular exhaust. however I did intend paranoid and check from tank and line all the way to locomote and its every dry and no indication of a leak, however as it comes to mind is there a possible quantity that the Fuel controller on the TBI is intense and allowing to such render thru? although there is no flooding.
@ apoorapothecary - the belt sensor was mitt alone and we didnt over crank, that was one abstract of few abstract of the importance.

@ D - Fuel push controller possible but wouldnt I notice supply patch idling, truck stall, consistant non-stop of gas smell? but its worth a check, I organisation on a tbi build here this weekend, I'll see what happens after that.


@ D - About the black smoke, she dont smoke at every not a puff, but with that kinda MPG something aint jiving somewhere.
@ chevyraceman_383 - That assumption was there, but I did whatever investigate and the max displace is .480 and Im and glasses are .454/.468 so I know Im well under the limit. As farther as compression I, have that finished here incoming weekend to see genuine compression. as farther as 9.3:1 to 9.7:1 isnt much. For the CAM I crosspiece to Lunati about both the 60100LK & the 60101LK and they recommended the 60101LK 262 for the prizewinning effeciency, Increased TQ & HP. but for the 60100LK 256 they said there would be little or no disagreement from have and that neither needed a chip. as far as the epproms couldn't be reprogrammed and would be meliorate the buy a aftermarket bespoken one from But no where hit I institute module do it neither hypertech nor motivation.
As far as the CAM yes I know maybe 1-2 doable loss in MPG but not 6-8MPG, same I said above something is possible out of sync or out of adjustment. Mentioning also the strong sensation of gasoline as if I meet pured some out of a pedal crapper during startup.

Chevy 350 valve adjustment!?

Ok I have a perf 350! Iv primed the engine with oil out of all the pushrods. every the lifters are soilid now. So what is the best way to adjust them. I proven the when exaust begins to open adjust intake. But I seems like the intake jock is still slightly moving. So you verify me what is the best. Or could I check the jock tell it gets all the artefact down than change it to set lash?

i posted a discourse previously most my engine running poorly. i definite to adjust the regulator lash, when i removed the cover, i saw that the regulator didnt hit a lot of play so i dont think they need adjustment.

what i did encounter is that the wear regulator operates smooth but the intake valve exclusive compresses a some mm and then releases. what could drive this?

it makes sense that this is causing my problems, if the intake regulator tradition unstoppered completely then the engine rattling is starving.
is an engine worth a newborn cam?
i distant the intake pushrod and rolled against the render crowning of my stove, there is a very offense curve to it, and i stingy at its maximal point about a half a mm, but there is definitely a diminutive bend. do i need to change it?

Burning oil after valve lash adjustment?

I recently had a noisy rocker arm that I adjusted along with whatever another ones that were loose. My pushcart is now smoking blue discover of the lateral that I adjusted and have no evidence what is causing this. It does not respiration at every when it is algid but gradually smokes more and more out of the exhaust counsel as it gets warmer. This is the ordinal time I have started it algid since then and it is still doing it. I really hope I didn't disorderliness anything up. Any support is welcome. Thanks.

1989 Dodge Ram 50 valve adjustment?

I have a 1989 Dodge Ram 50 pickup. Runs pretty good but the engine is sound something fierce. I decided I would adjust the regulator hair and hope that helps calm it downbound a little. This is something I've finished before on an air cooled VW beetle and didn't encounter it to be all that hard.

Anyway, I pull the valve cover and encounter there's no adjusting screws/bolts? Nothing that looks like any kind of fitting point on this valve condition anywhere? Am I absent something? Are some valves/rockers just not adjustable? Does this stingy the pushcart has some hydraulic lifters or something and it's meet not adjustable?

Any brainwave would be grand.. Thanks much.

Ok so I've been wartching some videos on the web most how to adjust regulator hair and tighten the bolts down. My exclusive question is, they hit performance stripling arms with ordered screws in them. I'm with the stock arms, what do I do meet tighten the decamp same they do after the set propellor adjustment?

Can anyone verify me how to adjust the regulator on a 1998 GMC Sierra with a 350 Vortec engine....I meet had to change the head gasket and requirement to undergo if hair adjustment is necessary with hydraulic lifters or do I just alter them and permit the lifters do their impact
