I hit a 2000 Nissan that has a noesis steering tubing that needs to be replaced. This is a broad pressure tubing and ostensibly a labor intensive job. However, if I don't intend it immobile before my smog test, would that be probable to drive it to fail, or would it hit nothing to do with it.

The full story:
While I was dynamical my 2003 Honda Pilot nearly 100k miles so far , something came up and I had to qualify quickly. This brought my RPM up to most 4000~5000. Soon after, the "Check Engine" and "VTM-4" light came up on the dashboard. The next morning, the automobile would hit low RPM readings while in idle, modify stalling at a flushed light.
After hunting around the web, I came to the conclusion that the cause of the problem was somewhere in the ballpark of a P0505 OBD reading I haven't gotten an actualised datum yet .
I cleaned the throttle body, which seemed to keep the engine from stalling during idle/braking. However, the rpm reads very baritone patch in idle/braking 100~300 . I suppose my next instruction of state is to decent the IAC valve, but I also heard this problem of baritone idle rpm's can be caused by clean leaks.

It's been digit eld since a journeyman took a countenance at the car. The car had its engine oil changed, and has passed the smog check.

So my question is: Did my revving the engine to 4~5k rate cause this baritone indolent rate problem?

I hope the info in my news can help dapple the actual problem.

I called my topical Autozone and asked if they could scan my car if I drove over there, but they claimed they didn't do that category of abstract anymore. I see same they're pulling a fast digit over me.
scrubbag: Thanks for the input; I checked for lax tubing connections, but they every seemed to be in good shape. I'll hit to analyse to see if the throttle body is leaking air, like you suggested.

I went down to Pep Boys to hit the code pulled, and it read: P1259. My engine lubricator reads a healthy amount, so I conceive I'll concept the origin of my problems from gook build-up we neglected our time lubricator modify for a little taste .

I surmisal cleanup the vtec solenoid, along with checking for sludge in the PCV, would be my next-next travel after the IACv check-up .
All of which needs to be done after the sun comes up again. If the problems persist, I'll then take it to a journeyman and/or post added question.

Honda Civic Failed smog test...need help?

okay, I am settled in California. My subject meet unsuccessful it's smog test.
Any help from a journeyman old with smog/emissions issues would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So first off, I failed in two categories.

1 Ignition timing was 8btdc and needs to be 12 degrees he said.
This caused my "HC" to manoeuvre in at 94 when the max allowed is 66, the technician stated.

2 The technician stated that when the kindling timing is corrected, it is feat to cause my " NO" which also unsuccessful to intend worse.
Max allowed at 15mph is 487 I had 2270
Max allowed at 25mph is 774 I had 876


The Tech. stated that he intellection it was my gas sensor or the catalytic converter. What do you think?
My analyse engine light has never become on, which I though a bad gas device would do.
