Hey all!

New to the forum and have an issue.

A little background.... I bought a 1994 xlh 1200 from a guy who was getting divorced He had to intend the bike out of the house in 2 days so I took a chance. He expressed the bike had been sitting for 5 years.

Went home, drained the gas, firm plugs, inspected the carb seemed very clean for a bike that had been sitting New battery... and baritone and see fired right up! I could not conceive my eyes.

I was in LOVE. Seat of the pants, hold on tight... LOVE. A chum of mine saw a recording and said it strength be absent or have a timing issue... but the exclusive complaint I had was an occasional carb reflex and baritone idle.

I rode around for 2 days before deciding to pull the carbs not trusting that they were really clean. Polished everything and re installed. Thats when it all started and hasn't separate correct since. Doh!

Original settings: The bike has straightforward pipes, a hypercharger, had a dyno plane kit ? installed. 40 andante 180 main. d146 needle, instance in 4 from top. drilled slide over 1/8. mixture propellor was discover about 4.5 to 5 turns useless? No VOES. But it ran. Like a champ.




Any way... fast forward.. I have been finished about 50 carbs in my life and have never had this such trouble.... But this is my first harley. :

I have replaced; Intake manifold gaskets and carb gasket. 45 slow jet. N65c Needle. Replaced slide with stock. New VOES. New gaskets to expose separate etc. Screw 2 to 3 turns out. Plugs countenance good. New gun viscus diaphram and intend a pleasant bounteous squirt.

It Runs, but cannot be ridden. Idles fine. a little throttle.... its fine. a lowercase more enrich and it seems to discontinue down. If i increase it up on to the harry it will rev to redline. If i snap it to wot it module walk then rev up. its when i roll on nicely, same when pulling away from a stop, that i hit nothing.

I am at a loss....

Please help.

Can a Vaccuum LEAK cause my car to warm UP slow?

So...Ive been having a vaccuum leak for a while now...and finally decided to replace the gaskets and another components such as render injectors o rings, intake increase gaskets, egr gasket, throttle gasket..fuel distinction hoses, vaccuum hoses and any another cushy part to replace that gets in the way.

but my doubt is: can a vaccuum leak, message the car is runnning LEAN....can cause my engine to hearty up slow? and by slow im saying it takes about 20 minutes to reach operating temperature....according to the temperature gauge...

Oh, and by the way...could this clean revealing drive hornlike braking problems? Maybe the brake booster not getting sufficiency vacuum? I undergo I need to rectify my face disks since they have whatever glaze and scratches...but the pads are good...

Truck started skipping the other day. so i did the connatural tune up that usually is finished in this case. new plugs newborn wires and i said screw it and added a msd destrib, dialed it all in and added a new msd blaster coil . patterned all the vacume lines and noesis connections replaced 1 of the machine connectors to the workman coil, and soldered it and modify enwrapped it. also patterned injector flow on both sides. spraying like a dream. then patterned spark with a flash inquirer from advanced machine pulled soured the sort digit plug accommodate and everything looks great.

Now i started onto my test drive. pushcart didn't attain it out of the driveway. the minute you put a alluviation onto it it water onto its face started 2 shutter indolent way soured and back fires and tries 2 stall discover just like it did b4 the tune up.

Any ideas boys and girls...
I'm leaning towards a possible intake manifold gasket failure or the tpi gasket failure.
Granted ladys and gents the pushcart is 22 years older and in excellent shape. no rust at all.

I've also replaced the computers liquid temp sensor because Ive heard of them reading bad and mixing up the fuel mixture..

Replace spark plugs ECHO Required low the cost of the Emission Control Warranty. Iridium tipped spark plugs according to the manual; but it also says replace them for the 120,000 mi, meet 30,000 mi later?

Replace timing belt Camry with 1MZ-FE

I've got two separate estimates so far:

Doing some research, on advancedautoparts I can get the iridium tipped spark plugs for 7 to 9. NGK Iridium 1x Spark plug or NGK Iridium 1X Spark block - not sure what the difference is there

So perhaps I could buy the parts, and have them install it, and just clear for fag and save some money?

As for the timing belt, discoverer says 401.

As for the other shop, they said 850, because they feature they would propose everything effort replaced to include, timing belt, water pump, thermostat and gasket, etc
I could buy the 2002 Camry Timing Belt outfit that includes all that for 269 on Amazon, and hit again, meet clear for labor? How such is fair for fag on the timing belt. I know it's a 4-6 distance job.

So, should I just have the timing track replaced, or should I hit everything replaced in that regard?

I hit yet to call the dealership, but I have a feeling it would outlay even more there.

Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you everyone! Ah, yes Grandpa Jack, you're right, the ECHO was for a assorted model, but I realized that the maint schedule is for 90,000 or 72 months and 120,000 mi or 96 months, which I've exceeded. It's a 2002 car, so I do requirement to intend the spark plugs replaced.

I titled the dealership, they will replace the timing belt/waterpump, front cam and crankshaft seals, etc for 1,070 or so. Perhaps I should I just verify it to the concern and hit that pact of mind.
1,244 total for flash plugs from Toyota.
I meant 12.44 per flash plug, 243 for parts/labor overall.

after installing a new intake manifold gasket, I started to see and smell exhaust smell from the hood.?

After replacing a newborn intake increase gasket metal gasket , I notice that there is a perceptible smell of wear reaching from the hood. Do I need to add silicon sealant on both lateral of the gasket? or is the exhaust odor is not from the intake increase but from somewhere else? help!
