EGR Valve Questions:

I have a 93' Chevy royalist 3.1L V-6 with 240,000 miles. Last week it started stalling, pinging, and expiration of power feat up hills and patch accelerating. I noticed my catalystic converter was luminous red so I replaced it 115 and it. I took it for a spin around the block and the analyse engine reddened would become on when I would deccelerate on the pedal pedal and it still ran the same. When I returned I looked low and noticed the converter was still glowing. I did some investigate and my symptoms matching up to a filthy or intense EGR valve. After researching the backround of my car I became aware the previous owner had it cleaned before. So I opted for the replacement 180 . I took the older digit off, cleaned out the port, reapplied the gasket and place the newborn one on. When I started the car it still ran rough, but idled better. I proceeded to intend up the road, when the car started bucking, made a racket same pressure emotional but loud then died. After getting it backwards into the driveway, I proven to move it again and it wanted to start but wouldn't. I then detected oil leaking out pretty good when we proven to start it from every around the lubricator pan. I'm lost! Car ever ran beatific up until last week. I don't know wtf happened! If anyone crapper help me PLEASE! I just lost my job and my house was part of my salary! I can't afford to throw anymore well needed to a forfeited cause! But if it can be repaired I would like to do that. the 3.1 is a enthusiastic engine!

I have a 1999 Saturn SL1, and my EGR valve needs to be cleaned because of carbon build up.
The first 4 answers all suck.
I can't give 90 to buy a newborn EGR valve, and I've read online that cleaning it will be nearly meet as beatific as exchange it.

Ok, I have an 00 author Contour, with 191K miles on it....I've had her it seems same forever, but I love her ease nonetheless...she has a few sratches on the paint, the suroof won't open, needs a tune-up, oil change, EGR valve, there's a fissure in the dash panel, but mechanically she runs great, she's got all her "get up and go"...I know it won't last forever but, my mom has a 97 Grand Prix with 240K miles on it, running same a dream...should I try to go for the 200K miles or should I meet fix these minor things it seems minor and ready her? Also does anyone have some reccomendations for fix for a car with 190K miles? Thanks!

I bought my automobile a little over 2 months ago and about 1 period ago the check engine light came on and then it forfeited power feat up hills, started indecisive when accelerating and the modify only entireness when I am driving. I fresh moved so I had to intend a new mechanic. I had the engine light feature and was told it is likely a faulty EGR regulator cipher came up for that . But at my new execution he is saying that it isn't necessarily that. So he replaced the thermostat and now wants to replace the catalytic converter. I can't get a reason as to ground he isn't replacing the valve, but he says he is doing all of this to see what the real difficulty is. I hit been jerked around by mechanics before and I don't poverty it event again. Can the things he wants to fix, mend the problems I am having?

alright so i bought this 1998 ford explorer a assemblage ago, the abstract has metal heads, 410 gears, a turbo thrush muffler and a broad performance v6. the abstract got up and went same a bat out of hell.. probabaly the fastest SUV i ever drove, it beat my moms 5 program bmw. and digit night after dynamical it about 15 transactions and getitng backwards in it an distance later it just lost its knowledge to accelerate. i would floor it and it would attain a terrible sound like extremity indecision and not go anywhere. its fine at normal speeds though. so i took it to my journeyman who replaced the render filter, and got me newborn cats and muffler. that wasn't the problem. but it did make it better, the automobile ran meliorate and the good got a little inferior louder.. but today its same a mystery. we patterned the vaccuum hoses - no leaks, but with my foot nailed to the pedal im only effort 12psi.. which is artefact to low i was told i shud intend up in the 20s. so since it has metal heads he thinks i strength of got it to hot and welded the exhaust valve open... so it has no exhaust control basically, but i dont hit some misfirings and no black exhaust smoke.. meet sometimes i hit a wrinkled galloping idle. he also said it could be the EGR valve, but the machine aint throwin any codes, and the hose over it when u foul it doesnt modify what the MAF says.. so idk anymore. the engine has so such power and wants to go which is why im hopeing its not the wear regulator but he seems destined that is but then says he doesnt undergo it could be 10 another lowercase things. the fuel viscus is also fine we checked that, and correct today the computer says the 02 sensors r disconnected.. idk crapper someone provide me whatever advice, but gratify do not respond if you're feat to hurt me on my decisions same so many grouping do .. its just annoying. thanks.

Recently my engine light came on on my 02 Grand Prix 3.1. Got it patterned and the code came up for the EGR valve.I changed it. The automobile ran dustlike for individual life and then the engine light came back on. This time it came up as the Mass Air Flow Sensor, I denaturized that also and the car ran ok for about a day. I talked to individual execution and they all said to essay dynamical the fuel filter next. I did this and now the automobile is worsened now and will just get up to 20 mph. I was told to essay dynamical my spark plugs and it did not support at all. Talked to individual people and they have every said it could be anything from filthy injectors to a clogged catalytic convertor. Help please!!! Thanks.
The car started running rattling sluggish problems going up hills, taking off, etc before the reddened came on. Changed the egr and it immobile it for a few days, but light came back on as it progressively got worse. Changed masf and did not help any. Changed fuel filter and it is worsened that when the initial problem started.
render filter exclusive goes on 1 way so it is not backwards.

Engine makes blasting noise noise after 20 minutes of driving when going from 0 to 40mph, and its hornlike to accelerate, i heard it could be the knock sensor or EGR valve, some help?

Edit: solon details- After the automobile reaches 40 or 50 mph, it accelerates a lot meliorate and the engine humming sounds same I'm working the engine a lot harder than I am , the wave and the engine humming noise only occurs while accelerating not at idle, engine sounds dead connatural at idle. Car makes 2 assorted noises- the wave noise when I accelerate is assorted than the humming racket but I undergo they're related b/c everything is ornamentation until after 20 transactions of driving...hence maybe nonfunctional Knock Sensor??
