Computer Cooling Systems Questions:

Question #1:

Is it possible to upgrade power supply on my desktop?

I hit a Gateway sx2841-09e screen with an Intel Pentium dual core processor with Intel GMA hd graphics and a 220w noesis cater and i'm hunting to upgrade it. I heard that upgrading the graphics card and overclocking the pc module overheat the computer and the noesis cater will brief out. Do I need to upgrade the power supply or change the cooling system.. or both?? If so it is possible to modify these componets to better ones? Recommendations would help, too.
I requirement a good, detailed salutation please!
